The University of Oklahoma (OU) is a public university located in Norman, OK. The university was founded 1890, 17 years before Oklahoma became a state. OU is home to the National Weather Center and the university’s School of Meteorology is the largest such program in the nation, with approximately 250 undergraduate students. The university has won 36 NCAA national championships, which has ranked the Sooners (the nickname for all OU athletic teams) 13th all-time in NCAA team titles.
